Become a Referee

Looking for a way to enhance your knowledge of the game while earning money at the same time? Get certified as a USSF referee!

RECREATIONAL GAMES

The Recreation Program supplies referees for all U11  games. These games require one center referee. While you do not need to be certified to referee these games, certified referees will be given the opportunity before non-certified referees.

COMPETITIVE GAMES

The Advanced Program requires three referees for each game. The number of Advanced Program games each weekend in Grand County varies from 1 to 4.

For all Advanced Program games, you'll need to be certified by the USSF. The minimum age is 11 and the certification consists on initial online work, including a test, and also an 8-hour clinic. We have already held a clinic in Grand County this year, so if you are interested in becoming certified you will need to find a clinic to attend by visiting coreferees.org. Please e-mail us at [email protected] with questions/concerns.

While the certification process costs money, you'll get paid for all the games you referee.

What's It Take

We can't play games unless we have referees.

You can make a difference--You'll be a mentor to the kids on the fields.

You'll keep them safe and help them understand what they can and can't do.

It's a great way to make money. You can begin refereeing at 12!

The league will have a field coordinator available to ensure that parents or coaches don't get out of hand.
